Fusecon is a leading annual tech conference in Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia, that brings hundreds of designers, engineers, and leaders together to drive real conversations and real impact.
Paper and Pain partnered with Fusecon to built the conference website in 2025. In 2026, we returned to design and implement a more robust, sleek, and accessible website for the conference attendees, speakers, and the Fusecon team.
What we did
- Team workshops
- User feedback analysis
- Mobile-first design
- Accessibility
- Full stack development
- Maintenance and support

Big improvements
We watched last year's attendees as they navigated the old website, listened to their feedback, and worked closely with the conference team to make sure that Fusecon 2026 goes smoothly on stage and online.
Performance
We rebuilt the website to reduce the number of database queries, optimise media files, and significantly increase the loading speed.
Accessibility
From reduced motion to universal focus states, the new Fusecon website is more accessible than ever.
Aesthetics
We crafted a bolder, braver look for Fusecon without compromising usability or performance.
Better schedule
Since our users are going to access the Talks page on mobile, we opted to display all events in one column with added date and event type filters

After
Better navigation
Fusecon 2026 rocks a prominent, accessible, easy-to-use navigation that won't get in the way.

After
Great mobile experience
We built the website to complement the conference: help navigate the floor, find relevant talks, connect, and enjoy.

New things
Fusecon 2026 was designed to help enrich the conference experience, help attendees enjoy the talks, find their way around the venue, build their schedule, and make friends.
Bookmarks
We added bookmarks: one tap of a button adds the talk to the user's own timeline page. No registration required, no personal data collected — bookmarks are saved on the user's device and doesn't add any load to our servers.
Satellite events
Fusecon was expanding this year, and so was its website. We helped each satellite event find a home, made them easy to discover, and built unique functionality for each event type.
